Gli abitanti della citta in cui siete arrivati vidiranno con tanto d'orgoglio che la loro citta e "la piu bella del mondo e dei dintorni". E un'affermazione da non discuterne perché la Spalato millenaria dallo spirito sereno, che ben presto scoprirete, ne convincera anche voi! Questa citta eternamente giovane con circa 200 mila abitanti che le danno il calore del temperamento mediterraneo, gia da 1700 anni vive a ritmo urbano, con il cuore nel palazzo di Diocleziano e l'anima cordiale che vi accogliera a braccia aperte.
Da quei tempi sino ad oggi l'esistenza millenaria della citta sotto la tutela dell'UNESCO e iscritta nel Registro del patrimonio culturale mondiale scrive la storia di questa metropoli del Sud croato.
Ubicazione e caratteristiche naturali
La citta di Spalato si trova nella parte piu calda della costa settentrionale del Mediterraneo, al centro della costa adriatica e nell'immediata vicinanza dei fiumi Jadro e Žrnovnica che da 1700 anni l'alimentano d'acqua. Il suo clima mite con 2700 ore di sole all'anno anche in pieno inverno la trasforma in oasi dove, riparati dal vento, si puo godere il sole. Il centro industriale, economico e universitario della regione ha la sua "anima verde" nel colle Marjan che si trova nella parte occidentale della penisola, il cui parco-bosco offre piacevoli passeggiate sotto i pini vicini al mare e lontani dal rumore della citta.

The Croatian Athletic Federation and the City of Split wish you a warm welcome to this great spectacle of sports ( IAAF / VTB Bank international cup ). The arrival of the international elite in athletics to the Continental Cup is result of successful and committed cooperation of the IAAF and the Local Organizing Committee. In September in Split we will have winners of 51 Olympic Games and 136 World Championship winners competing. This is at the same time another proof of the importance of the biggest outdoor competition in athletics this season, where four continents compete for the title of the best one. Undoubtedly, this event is very important for all athletes, because they have the chance to compete against the best athletes outside their own continents. Salvador Felipe Jacinto Dali I Domenech was born at 8:45 on the morning of May 11, 1904 in the small agricultural town of Figueres, Spain. The young Dali attended the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid. Early recognition of Dali's talent came with his first one-man show in Barcelona in 1925.He became internationally known when three of his paintings, including The Basket of Bread (now in the Museum's collection), were shown in the third annual Carnegie International Exhibition in Pittsburgh in 1928.
