Situation géographique et milieu naturel
La ville de Split s'est positionnée sur la partie la plus chaude de la côte septentrionale de la Méditerranée, au coeur meme de la côte adriatique a proximité immédiate des rivieres Jadro et Žrnovnica qui la fournissent en eau depuis 1700 ans. Le climat tempéré avec ses 2700 heures d'ensoleillement annuel transforment en plein hiver la ville meme en une oasis ou l'on peut prendre le soleil a l'abri du vent. Le centre industriel, universitaire et économique de la région garde un âme verte grâce au Mont Marjan qui se trouve a l'est de la péninsule et dont le parc forestier offre des promenades a l'abri du tumulte urbain sur des sentiers au bord de la mer a l'ombre des pins.

The Croatian Athletic Federation and the City of Split wish you a warm welcome to this great spectacle of sports ( IAAF / VTB Bank international cup ). The arrival of the international elite in athletics to the Continental Cup is result of successful and committed cooperation of the IAAF and the Local Organizing Committee. In September in Split we will have winners of 51 Olympic Games and 136 World Championship winners competing. This is at the same time another proof of the importance of the biggest outdoor competition in athletics this season, where four continents compete for the title of the best one. Undoubtedly, this event is very important for all athletes, because they have the chance to compete against the best athletes outside their own continents. Salvador Felipe Jacinto Dali I Domenech was born at 8:45 on the morning of May 11, 1904 in the small agricultural town of Figueres, Spain. The young Dali attended the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid. Early recognition of Dali's talent came with his first one-man show in Barcelona in 1925.He became internationally known when three of his paintings, including The Basket of Bread (now in the Museum's collection), were shown in the third annual Carnegie International Exhibition in Pittsburgh in 1928.
