Gli abitanti della citta in cui siete arrivati vidiranno con tanto d'orgoglio che la loro citta e "la piu bella del mondo e dei dintorni". E un'affermazione da non discuterne perché la Spalato millenaria dallo spirito sereno, che ben presto scoprirete, ne convincera anche voi! Questa citta eternamente giovane con circa 200 mila abitanti che le danno il calore del temperamento mediterraneo, gia da 1700 anni vive a ritmo urbano, con il cuore nel palazzo di Diocleziano e l'anima cordiale che vi accogliera a braccia aperte.
Da quei tempi sino ad oggi l'esistenza millenaria della citta sotto la tutela dell'UNESCO e iscritta nel Registro del patrimonio culturale mondiale scrive la storia di questa metropoli del Sud croato.
Ubicazione e caratteristiche naturali
La citta di Spalato si trova nella parte piu calda della costa settentrionale del Mediterraneo, al centro della costa adriatica e nell'immediata vicinanza dei fiumi Jadro e Žrnovnica che da 1700 anni l'alimentano d'acqua. Il suo clima mite con 2700 ore di sole all'anno anche in pieno inverno la trasforma in oasi dove, riparati dal vento, si puo godere il sole. Il centro industriale, economico e universitario della regione ha la sua "anima verde" nel colle Marjan che si trova nella parte occidentale della penisola, il cui parco-bosco offre piacevoli passeggiate sotto i pini vicini al mare e lontani dal rumore della citta.

Split Summer (1954 - 2010) is an artistic festival that builds its national and international reputation since the second half of the 20th century. Along with the Dubrovnik summer games, it is a festival with the longest and most splendid tradition of the classical spectrum of scene arts (opera, drama, ballet, concert...), widening the fan of events with time: from jazz concerts and movie revues to exhibitions, performances and street theatre. The most persistent and strongest organization bearer of the festival is HNK Split, a national theatre that represents the unavoidable and key spot in the culture life of Split, as well as one of the most vital spots in the theatre life of entire Croatia.

Salvador Felipe Jacinto Dali I Domenech was born at 8:45 on the morning of May 11, 1904 in the small agricultural town of Figueres, Spain. The young Dali attended the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid. Early recognition of Dali's talent came with his first one-man show in Barcelona in 1925.He became internationally known when three of his paintings, including The Basket of Bread (now in the Museum's collection), were shown in the third annual Carnegie International Exhibition in Pittsburgh in 1928.
