Exhibition "Pots, plates, bowls"

The exhibition "Pots, plates and bowls" is open in the Etnographic Museum till the end of May. Folk ceramics used by the broad social classes in the rural and urban areas of Dalmatia mostly in the 19th century will be displayed.The first objects made of firebaked soil were obtained for the Ethnographic Museum around 1920 and its collecting intensified in the period of the second half of the 20th century.

Art market

A manifestation under the title Art Market is being held on Split Prokurative (Republic square)on Saturday. The manifestation begins at 9am and lasts till 3pm and it is going to be held throughout the year, each Saturday at the same time and at the same place. The goal? To include all cultural associations and creative individuals working in the City of Split to enhance the cultural-touristic presentation of the City and the region of Dalmatia with their works.

Location and environment
The city of Split is situated in the warmest region of the northern Mediterranean coast, in the very centre of the Adriatic eastern coast and in the immediate vicinity of the rivers Jadro and Žrnovnica that have been watering it for 1700 years. Its mild climate, with 2700 sunny hours per year, makes it an oasis where, sheltered from the wind, one can enjoy the sun even in wintertime. The industrial, university, and business centre of the region nourishes its "green soul" on the hill Marjan situated in the westernmost part of the peninsula. Its forested park infringed by the city and the sea offers pleasant walks away from the city noise under the pines by the sea.
